Malamine Efekele set to sign first pro contract at Monaco
AS Monaco academy player Malamine Efekele (18) is set to sign his first professional contract with the Principality club, according to L’Équipe.
Efekele, like Kylian Mbappé (23) before him, made the move from Bondy to Monaco, and is now on the verge of turning professional. The similarities don’t end there. Efekele is also a natural winger, who is also capable of playing down the middle.
Efekele joined Monaco from Bondy Youth in 2019 and has featured for the U19 since his arrival. He also featured in the Gambardella Cup last season.
He is set to sign a three-year deal at Monaco, and become the latest in a long line of academy products to turn professional in recent months. Like many of his fellow youth teammates, Efekele has been involved in Monaco’s pre-season preparations, which got underway early due to the club’s congested fixture list in August and through into September.
