Chelsea trying to hijack PSG’s Nordi Mukiele deal with Timo Werner trade

As reported by Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, Premier League club Chelsea are in the process of trying to hijack PSG’s move for Red Bull Leipzig wing-back Nordi Mukiele.

The former Montpellier defender has been the subject of strong interest from PSG in recent times and the Paris club are still confident about signing the Frenchman regardless of Chelsea’s attempt to gazump them, according to Aouna.

Chelsea are looking to include German international striker Timo Werner in the deal for the 24-year-old after Werner failed to impress since his move from Leipzig for €50m back in 2020. Werner has managed just 23 goals and 21 assists in 89 games for the London club since then.

PSG, however, are hoping to have Mukiele’s deal signed and the player training with their squad by Wednesday this week having reportedly agreed on a move on all fronts for the defender in the last few days. Manchester United were also reportedly in contract with Mukiele this summer.
