In contradicting other reports from France this week, Foot Mercato have reported that PSG forward Neymar has been offered to other European clubs following PSG’s exit from the Champions League at Real Madrid last week. The 30-year-old still has three years left on his current deal in Paris but the outlet say that PSG are willing to sell the player and Barcelona are amongst the clubs he has been offered to by the Ligue 1 side. Ligue 2 teams to receive €1m from CVC funds
Following the announcement that the LFP will sell a 13% stake to CVC Capital Partners for a total of €1.5bn, Ma Ligue 2 have announced that clubs in France’s second division will receive just €1m each. This follows L’Équipe‘s report that PSG will receive €200m, as the only member of the ‘first’ group of French clubs. The third group of Ligue 1 clubs is set to receive €33m each, however those who are relegated into Ligue 2 will receive just half of that. According to RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain will not make any decision on the future of their manager, Mauricio Pochettino, over the course of the next two weeks, while the majority of players are away on international break. Kylian Mbappé in image rights row with France national team
L’Équipe report that Kylian Mbappé refused to take part in yesterday morning’s sponsorship commitments with the French national team. The Paris Saint-Germain forward explained that he did not want his image associated with certain brands, on the advice of his own lawyer. Les Bleus’ sponsors did not appreciate Mbappé’s no-show, and FFF president Noël Le Graët called up Mbappé to try changing his mind, in vain. Brest submit new stadium proposal
As reported by L’Équipe, Ligue 1 Brest have submitted designs for a new stadium to be built by 2026 after being talked about by the club and locals for many years. The ground will comprise of 15,000 seats and, from some angles, bears a resemblance to a smaller version of Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena with flowing lines and curved bowl-like sides. A small ground, only 11,800 places will be saved for the general public with the rest reserved for club partners. As reported by Le10Sport, Sochaux midfielder Gaëtan Weissbeck is likely to be in demand this summer, especially in the case that the Ligue 2 promotion chasers do not return to Ligue 1.
