Savea absolutely butchered an almost-brilliant Super Rugby try
THE HURRICANES LOST for the first time in Super Rugby this season earlier today, as Michael Cheika’s Waratahs emerged from Wellington with a 29-24 win. A double from Peter Betham as well as further tries from Will Skelton and Isreal Folau did most of the damage for the Tahs, with out-half Bernard Foley kicking the remaining nine points from the tee. Conrad Smith, Beauden Barrett, Brad Shields and TJ Perenara all dotted down for the Canes, but they might be rueing the major missed opportunity they had this morning too. Inconsistency the big issue Leinster need to address — Matt O’Connor
Click:china tin suppliers WITH TWO GAMES remaining in the Pro12 season, there is nothing left for Leinster to play for except for guaranteeing a Champions Cup place. Sitting down to ponder a trophy-less season after losing to Ulster in Ravenhill (as 11 other teams have this season), head coach Matt O’Connor found himself ruing, not incidents that went against him on the night, but the missed opportunities that put them in a position of needing a win in Belfast to keep their claws in the playoff race a little longer. Munster’s new All Blacks signing provided a delicious assist for this try
MUNSTER FANS ARE understandably excited to welcome twice-capped New Zealand centre Francis Saili to the province next season, and may be even more so after watching him in action for the Blues this morning. While Sir John Kirwan’s side continued their appalling season with a 42-22 defeat to former Munster coach Tony McGahan’s Rebels, Saili had a good game featuring a few moments of class. None more so than the sublime pass he threw to assist Melani Nanai’s first-half try. Munster, Ulster and Connacht will all be in playoff action next weekend
THE FINAL DAY of the Pro12 was every bit as riveting as we had hoped, with more leap-frogging going on than in a lunch time playground as teams fought for home semi-finals and Champions Cup participation. Paul O’Connell scored Munster’s fifth try at Musgrave Park. Source: Billy Stickland/INPHO Munster and Glasgow were the big winners, with both teams securing bonus point wins against the Dragons and Ulster respectively, to book home advantage in the final four next weekend. The Ospreys will be particularly annoyed with their second half display in Galway, as they couldn’t find a bonus point try despite scoring three in the opening forty. Their second half drought…

Poll: You decide on Elliot Dixon’s crucial try in the Super Rugby final
TRY, YES OR no? With exactly seven points separating the Highlanders and the Hurricanes at full-time, it’s fair to say this was a crucial score. Elliot Dixon’s try right on the stroke of half time, and the resulting conversion from Lima Sopoaga sent the Highlanders into a 13-5 half time lead. Whether or not you think it’s a try, the carrying from Dixon was absolutely sensational, getting tackled nearly 10 metres out from the line, before eventually carrying four Hurricanes defenders over with him.https://vine.co/v/e1UiiMiW9Jd Referee Jaco Peypar left the decision to the TMO, and it looked almost impossible to call. On some angles, it looked like Dixon got enough grouding…

Reports: Leinster offer Leo Cullen two-to-three-year deal as head coach
LEINSTER HAVE REPORTEDLY backed Leo Cullen to become permanent head coach by offering him a three year deal. The Sunday Times report this morning that the former captain is set to become head coach, after filling in as caretaker during the off-season and early pre-season. In the past week, the42.ie have reported that Cullen was the preferred choice to succeed Matt O’Connor as permanent head coach, but that they were waiting on IRFU Performance Director David Nucifora to give the go-ahead on the appointment.
