Arsenal vs Cardiff City: Incredible Neil Warnock statistic suggests Bluebirds win is unlikely
Arsenal host Cardiff City tonight as the Premier League returns but we don’t hold much hope for the Welsh side.
The Bluebirds have had some recent good form in the top flight, winning once and drawing twice in their last five, leaving them 18th in the table.
A victory against the Gunners is always going to be a tough ask although never impossible but over the years manager Neil Warnock hasn’t had much luck when it comes to visiting north London.
During the manager’s previous tenures in the Premier League he has faced Arsenal away in the league just three times with all the games coming in different decades.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock reveals ‘brilliant’ dressing room clash between two former players – ‘He’s gone over and headbutted him!’
Unfortunately for the current Bluebirds boss, he’s lost all of them and hasn’t seen his side score a single goal.
His first match came with Notts County in 1991 with Alan Smith and Ian Wright giving the Gunners a 2-0 triumph.
Goals from William Gallas and Thierry Henry sandwiched a Phil Jagielka own goal in 2006 as Sheffield United lost 3-0 at the Emirates, and Queens Park Rangers were beaten 1-0 on New Year’s Eve 2011 thanks to a Robin van Persie strike.
Warnock also missed out on facing Arsenal away in the Premier League on two occasions due to being sacked, once with QPR and once with Crystal Palace.
