OGC Nice defender Malang Sarr is not a fan of Mario Balotelli: “Of course we hold it against him.”

Speaking in a pre-match press conference today ahead of OGC Nice’s weekend clash with Marseille, teenage central defender Malang Sarr was asked about former team-mate Mario Balotelli’s start at OM.

On if he’s surprised by how well Balotelli has started at Marseille:

No, it was the same at Nice. He often starts well. He is having success, he has integrated himself well, but he is no longer at Nice and so I am indifferent to all that.

On if he’s annoyed at Balotelli for his lack of application in the 1st half of this season with OGC Nice:

Of course we hold it against with him. We would have liked him to apply himself during the first half of the season. He sat himself out, decided not to be part of things, decided not to apply himself to the club’s project. It is annoying. It is a shame to react in such a way but that was his decision.

On if he is a friend of Malang’s:

He is a former team-mate, that is it. He knows very well that his behaviour was not appreciated by everyone. He wasted 6 months, but we are still in the battle for Europe.
