Real Sociedad set to challenge Marseille for Mohamed-Ali Cho
RMC are reporting that Real Sociedad have “taken the inside track” in the race to sign Angers’ Mohamed-Ali Cho (18), although Marseille, Frankfurt and Real Betis all remain interested in the attacker.
The France U21 international has been strongly coveted by Marseille, and it was recently reported in L’Équipe that the €12m deal was being held up by DNCG wage concerns. French football’s financial watchdog is particularly interested in the size of the club’s wage bill.
Primer to profit from any hold-up are Real Sociedad. The La Liga side have reportedly “taken the inside track” on the deal in recent days, and the side are now attempting to convince the young Frenchman to make the move to Spain.
It is expected that Ali Cho will depart Angers this summer having made 32 appearances for the side in 2021/22 scoring four goals. His departure is “expected” by Angers, and is a pre-requisite for them becoming active in buying players during this transfer window.
