Natalya Wants to be One of the First Women to Wrestle in Saudi Arabia

ESPN 1530’s No Holds Barred show recently interviewed WWE Superstar Natalya, who expressed that she wanted to wrestle in Saudi Arabia. At previous WWE events in the country, women have been restricted from wrestling on the cards. Below are some highlights from the interview. Natalya on wanting to go to Saudi Arabia: “I would really love a chance, one day, to go to Saudi Arabia. I think that would be such an incredible thing for women to make some history over there. So one day I hope, in a way that Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss were able to wrestle in Abu Dhabi, one day hopefully that would be a…

Larkham insists Munster are still evenly matched with Leinster

Updated Mar 31st 2021, 5:00 PM WITH TOULOUSE COMING to town on Saturday, there hasn’t been much time for Munster to lick their wounds.  The prospect of facing Antoine Dupont, Romain Ntamack, Cheslin Kolbe, Cyril Baille, Julien Marchand, and co. certainly sharpens the minds as Johann van Graan’s men look to bounce back from their latest defeat to Leinster. Losing at home in Thomond Park this weekend would see Munster knocked out of the Champions Cup and leave them with only the Rainbow Cup – still not confirmed in its entirety – to play for this season.  So one can understand the southern province taking the positives out of their…

Connacht’s European season ends with high-scoring defeat to Leicester

Leicester 48 Connacht 32 TYPICALLY, IT WAS entertaining but Connacht’s European season came to an end in the Challenge Cup round-of-16 as they came up short against Leicester at Welford Road. Connacht fullback John Porch. Source: Andy Watts/INPHO There were moments of quality from Andy Friend’s men and they made the Premiership side battle all the way into the closing minutes, but they will be left with regrets after giving up too many easy scores. Steve Borthwick’s Tigers always found a response to Connacht’s flashes of attacking inspiration and the western province must now look to the Rainbow Cup as a means of finishing their season with success. Fiji Drua and Moana Pasifika teams get licences to join Super Rugby next year

NEW ZEALAND RUGBY has issued licences for two Pacific island teams to join Super Rugby from next year, in a major milestone for the long-awaited expansion. The two teams — Fiji Drua and Moana Pasifika — must still have their finances approved before they can participate, but World Rugby last month said it was helping boost their coffers. “We are now on the cusp of realising a long-held desire to include Pasifika in our professional game and the opportunity to embrace all that comes with that,” former Samoa and All Black legend Michael Jones said. An estimated 20% of elite rugby players worldwide have Pacific heritage but top talent is…

Why WWE television didn’t end up on ESPN

In an interview with TheWrap.com, ESPN Executive Vice President of Programming and Scheduling Burke Magnus explained why RAW and Smackdown didn’t end up with ESPN: “We did talk to WWE during their process some months ago. Took a hard look at it, we’re obviously big fans of them. We just went into business with them on the XFL indirectly. But we couldn’t find a fit for it, primarily based on schedule.” “As you know, those properties are 52 weeks a year live. And I’m proud to say we have a pretty good problem, which is that we can’t clear anything 52 weeks a year live. We have a pretty full…

RG Snyman in line for return to Munster training next week

MUNSTER HAVE CONFIRMED that second row RG Snyman is very close to a return to squad training as he goes through the final stages of his rehab from a long-term knee injury. The Springboks lock was injured just minutes into his Munster debut last August, rupturing his ACL as he landed from a lineout.  Snyman has been sidelined ever since but has now “progressed to the final stages of his rehab,” according to Munster. The 26-year-old will be “reviewed for a possible return to squad training next week.” Meanwhile, Munster have confirmed that Ireland international Tadhg Beirne has returned to full training ahead of this weekend’s clash with Leinster at the…

Dan McFarland: ‘Our lacklustre collisions got us in a bit of trouble’

TEN POINTS UP, what could go wrong for Ulster? The answer was written on the scoreboard here at the Kingspan Stadium on 80 minutes. Somehow Connacht came from a man down and 10 points down to win. For Ulster coach, Dan McFarland, there was that sickening feeling that comes when defeat is snatched from the jaws of victory. With the game in the closing moments, Ulster had the lead and crucially, they also had possession. They lost the ball and subsequently they lost this game. “We had the game in the bag and there was a turnover from a driving maul and it was a terrible decision from the referee,”…
