Idrissa Gueye hands in transfer request at Everton bid to force move to Paris Saint-Germain

Idrissa Gueye is keen to leave Everton and has handed in a transfer request in an attempt to secure a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

The French champions made a £25million bid for the Senegal international on Monday, but this was rejected by Everton, who are adamant the midfielder is not for sale.

PSG are expected to come back with an improved offer and Gueye has now told the Toffees he wants to go.

But Everton are determined to keep hold of their man, and are preparing to reject all bids.

Gueye, 29, has impressed since moving to Goodison Park from Aston Villa for £7.1m in August 2016, making 83 Premier League appearances and contributing three goals.

Everton boss Marco Silva said on Monday there was no desire to sell the midfielder.

“My reaction is the same as our reaction as a club,” said Silva.

“We reject the offer. He is a really important player. It something really difficult to spend and buy new players.

“We don’t put anyone on the market. They have to value the player.

“I can’t see the value (they have put) on Gana. You know my opinion. He is a really important player for us and we don’t think about losing him.

“My technical point of view is really important. It looks really difficult for something to happen in this market.”
