Preview: Lyon vs Montpellier (27/11/15)

Lyon will be hoping to bounce back from a dreadful week as they take on Montpellier at the Stade de Gerland on Friday evening. The hosts head into this match on the back of a 3-0 loss away at Nice last weekend and a midweek Champions League defeat to Gent, a result that saw them eliminated from the competition. The aim for Hubert Fournier’s men will now be to qualify for the tournament next season via the runners up spot in Ligue 1, but to do so; their results will have to significantly improve.

Montpellier, on the other hand, are a team in form, winning three of their last four league outings, a run of results that has lifted them from 17th to 14th in the standings and six points clear of the relegation zone. If there was ever a perfect time for Montpellier to visit the Stade de Gerland, this would be it.
