Lassana Diarra takes aim at former Marseille President Vincent Labrune

Olympique de Marseille defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra took aim at former OM President Vincent Labrune in an exclusive interview with RMC.

“I had a problem with the former President, Vincent Labrune. I never had a problem with the institution and the fans. That also hurt me. You have to know that when I signed for Marseille, it was for four years and there was a written clause that said that I could leave during each transfer window. My aim was not to go to war with Marseille. Not in my dreams. Marseille kickstarted my career and I was selected for the national team again thanks to this club. I know what I owe them.”

“Vincent Labrune told me that he could not respect our agreement. With my injury, my fine and my entourage, that was difficult. We tried to understand this from his situation… I am not the only one to have had problems with Vincent Labrune. There was Marcelo Bielsa before me for example.”
