Nantes contact Jürgen Klinsmann to replace Claudio Ranieri

Ligue 1 side Nantes have contacted multiple individuals to replace outgoing manager Claudio Ranieri at the end of the season, one of whom is former United States national team boss Jürgen Klinsmann, according to France Football and 20 Minutes.

Whilst former Bordeaux & Guingamp man Jocelyn Gourvennec remains the early favourite, and is due to sit down with President Waldemar Kita today, Les Canaris also met with Gerard Lopez Segû, the former Barcelona B manager, yesterday.

Kita is also considering the appointment of a Sporting Director, and has contacted Youri Djorkaeff for a potential interview to take up such a position. Klinsmann and Djorkaeff know each other from their Monaco days, but a deal for the former is going to be difficult when one considers that Klinsmann has little interest in moving his family from the United States.
