Wolves approach Walter Benitez, as OGC Nice tries to extend the goalkeeper

Goal France report that 26-year-old Argentinian goalkeeper Walter Benitez has multiple options in front of him, with just over 12 months left on his current contract with Ligue 1 club OGC Nice.

Benitez has had an exceptional campaign, with 15 clean sheets this season and an unbelievable shots saved ratio of 81%. Benitez was somehow passed up for Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year UNFP Award, but across the Channel there are clubs taking notice.

Wolves have recently made an enquiry to for the 26-year-old, with Newcastle United and Crystal Palace also interested in the Argentinian. Benitez is asking questions about the contract extension offer made by OGC Nice, which his team views as not entirely satisfactory.

He feels good at Nice where his work has been very impressive to own the #1 shirt, but it is his desire to be included in the Argentinian national team that is making him question his future, because he does not feel that he is getting enough appreciation and exposure in France in order to make that dream a reality.
