PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe on beating Saint-Étienne: “It wasn’t easy in the first half.”
Reacting to his team’s 3-1 win over Saint-Étienne last night, Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe was keen to highlight the positives of the performances.
His words transcribed in RMC Sport, the centre-back notably hailed his team’s second-half comeback, led by man of the match Kylian Mbappé.
“It wasn’t easy in the first half. We were very wasteful. We did what he had to do in the second half to come back. We know that we have quality going forward but also defensively. We know that we’re a team and that we have to stick together in difficult times.”
“Like I say, we managed to do what was needed to come back in the second half. It’s positive. Quality alone is not enough. We have to be present in every match and remain consistent. When we let go, it pays dearly.”
