Four Big Events Streaming Live This Weekend: Omega Defends, Hell in a Cell, CMLL 85th Anniversary & More

Most fans are already aware that this Sunday, WWE will be airing its annual Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, live on the WWE Network. What you may not know, however, is that their event is actually just one of FOUR major shows taking place this weekend, all streaming live in one form or another.

The four-day marathon kicks off this Friday night with the CMLL 85th Anniversary Show from historic Arena Mexico, headlined by a tag team Luchas de Apuestas match that will see Matt Taven and Volador Jr. take on Rush and Barbaro Cavernario in a two-out-of-three falls bout where the losers will have their heads shaved!

New Japan Pro Wrestling takes us into Saturday with their early morning (in the U.S.) show, Destruction in Hiroshima. Not only will the Bullet Club Firing Squad put their NEVER 6-Man titles on the line, but Kenny Omega will be defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against the “Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii!

Sunday is of course WWE Hell in a Cell, headlined by Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, locked inside the Devil’s Playground itself. That show is fairly stacked, with Ronda Rousey defending, Charlotte Flair taking on Becky Lynch, and what should be an excellent contest between WWE Champion AJ Styles and his career-long rival Samoa Joe.

Finally, just hours after Hell in a Cell goes off the air, New Japan will complete our weekend with Destruction in Beppu, featuring the highly anticiapted collision of Tetsuya Naito and Minoru Suzuki in the main event, as well as Hirooki Goto defending the NEVER Openweight Championship against Suzuk-Gun’s most infuriating member, Taichi.
