Tottenham Hotspur news: Mauricio Pochettino to decide whether Heung-min Son starts against Watford
Son Heung-min will be available for Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Watford in the Premier League but Mauricio Pochettino has yet to decide if he will start.
Son has missed the last three Spurs games as he was away at the Asian Cup on international duty.
The South Korea forward was back in north London quicker than expected because of his country’s surprise defeat to Qatar in the quarter-final.
Spurs sorely missed Son while he was away due to a number of key injuries.
Prior to his departure, he scored seven goals in eight games for his club.
Pochettino confirmed he will be available for the match against Watford but is yet to decide whether he will be on the bench or starting.
“Son was good in training,” the Argentinian said. “Maybe after the third game he played in between Dubai and Emirates he felt empty because he was so disappointed, but here he’s happy and today he had very good energy.
“We’re going to decide if he will play from the beginning or the bench but I am very optimistic because he showed very good energy in the training session.”
Midfielder Moussa Sissoko is also back after a knee problem but Ben Davies (groin) is still out along with Harry Kane (ankle) and Dele Alli (hamstring).
