Official | Nîmes pull off Denis Bouanga coup

The transfer staff at Nîmes Olympique have continued their busy summer with the signing of young attacker Denis Bouanga from FC Lorient. Bouanga is Nîmes’ seventh arrival of this transfer window and will bring a goal-scoring presence from either the left or right wing. The Gabonese winger has signed a three-year deal with Nîmes and will be hoping to acclimate quickly to a club in a period of change.

A product of Lorient’s academy, Bouanga becomes yet another member of the Breton’s club fruitful summer exodus with this transfer. Leaving Les Merlus for a reported €3m, the Gabonese attacker adds to the list of Lorient’s profitable departures, joining the likes of Mattéo Guendouzi to Arsenal for €8m and Majeed Waris to FC Porto for €6m.

With the signing of Bouanga, Nîmes are bringing in one of the top performers of the last Ligue 2 season. In a left midfield position that allowed him to cut inside on his stronger right foot, Bouanga impressed with nine goals and four assists for a FC Lorient side that scored the fourth most goals in Ligue 2 play.

While Bouanga has yet to see any action in Ligue 1, his decisive performances and potential suggest he could be quite the coup for Nîmes Olympique.
