Ibrahimovic replaces Rashford for Manchester United against Rostov

The Swedish striker is back in the starting XI as Jose Mourinho’s side look to advance to the last eight of the Europa League

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to the Manchester United starting XI, replacing Marcus Rashford for the Europa League second leg with Rostov.

The 35-year-old is United’s top scorer this season, but missed out on Monday’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea due to a domestic suspension. He is recalled for the Russian side’s visit to Old Trafford in place of the teenage front man, who was earlier called into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for games against Germany and Lithuania.

United make a total of five changes from the FA Cup exit, bringing in Sergio Romero, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind and Juan Mata for David de Gea, Phil Jones, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young.

Chris Smalling captains the side for the second leg, with the teams going into the encounter level after a 1-1 scoreline in last week’s first leg in Russia.
